The 2011 FASD/FSU CDM Program has been Scheduled For March 28, 29, 31, and April 1, 2011 in Tallahassee, Florida.  On March 30, students will participate in the FASD legislative day.

The Association serves as the Department of Community Affairs primary education and training arm to satisfy the educational requirements of Ch. 189, FS.  The purpose of the education program is to ensure that district managers comply with the Florida Statutes governing special districts.  Core subjects special district staff are presented in the program, followed by a written project.  Successful graduates are recognized and awarded their certification each year at the FASD Annual Conference in June. The Association, in conjunction with Department of Community Affairs, created the Certified District Manager (CDM) Program in 2004 and has now partnered with Florida State University's Askew School of Government to provide the best possible certification program for this field.  This Program not only recognizes the professional and educational accomplishments of district managers of special districts, but promotes professionalism among the members of this profession.

Anyone who wants to attend the CDM class and/or submit the required project, (at the annual conference in June), must submit the application to the Steering Committee Chair by the deadline noted.
